A strong natural fire is raging in Marmaris (Turkey), the authorities have begun to evacuate local residents and tourists, RIA Novosti reports.
The footage of the NTV channel shows that the forest is burning in the immediate vicinity of residential buildings and hotels. The report notes that people are being taken out for preventive purposes: the direction of the wind gives hope that the fire will not reach buildings.
Turkish Agriculture Minister Bekir Pakdemirli said earlier that an airplane, five helicopters and 30 fire engines were involved in the extinguishing.
This is the second region of the country where forests are burning. On the eve it became known about the fires in the province of Antalya. There, due to strong winds and hot weather, the flame quickly spread over a large area.
The main fire is in the districts of Manavgat and Akseki, three people were killed, 122 injured. The fire fight continues.
