The Duke of Edinburgh, the husband of the British Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, died on April 9 at Windsor Castle, reports.

Prince Philip was 99 years old.

In early 2021, Prince Philip was hospitalized and spent about a month in the hospital. It was then reported that hospitalization was a precaution taken by his attending physicians, as the Duke felt unwell. Later, the queen's husband was transferred to the hospital of St. Bartholomew, where he continued to be treated for infection, and also underwent heart surgery.

In mid-March, Prince Philip was discharged from the hospital and returned to Windsor Castle.
