Twitter launched Clubhouse analogue
Twitter has launched a new feature called Spaces live-audio room, enabling users to participate in real-time audio conversations in special virtual rooms, Iz.ru reports citing CNBS.
The updated feature was launched by Twitter for iOS and Android users who have over 600 followers.
During live chats, Twitter users will see purple bubbles that can be clicked to join the space. Once inside, participants can send messages to these spaces. In turn, the owner of the room can moderate it by regulating the participants, that is, adding or removing them.
The app was first introduced to iOS by Paul Davison and Rohan Seth of Alpha Exploration Co. in March 2020. Clubhouse has stated it remains invite-only to ensure that their team is able to manage the growth of their user base and continues refining the app to be capable of supporting a larger audience.
