Special tariff "Bilim" will appear for students and teachers

In order to support distance education, the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with cellular operators, worked out the issue of providing a special tariff plan "Bilim" for teachers, schoolchildren and students, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the ministry.
According to the acting Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Musin, the tariff plan includes unlimited access to 380 domestic educational resources (local, located in Kazakhstan), approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including Kazakhstan video conferencing systems.
"The subscription fee for the special tariff "Bilim" will be 990 tenge per month. This tariff plan will be available for use after August 20. The conditions for connecting to the new tariff plan are now being worked out by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Also, telecom operators will provide an additional 1 GB of Internet traffic", - added Bagdat Musin.
The ministry noted that this became possible thanks to the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and telecom operators on unlimited access of Kazakhstanis to educational resources.
In addition, the ministry, together with fixed-line operators, analyzed and identified the operators' capabilities to connect / increase the Internet speed in schools up to 8 Mbps.
This information is sent to the regions with the proposed tariff plans and indication of contact persons. Currently, akimats are working on the purchase of services for provision of Internet to schools.
