IT solutions under implementation by Kazakhtelecom

During the forum of the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was shown a number of digital projects of Kazakhtelecom JSC implemented on the Big Data-analytics platform, refers to the company's press service reporting.

Kazakhtelecom JSC, a member of the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund, actively shares in the implementation of the NWF's policy on development and application of new high-tech tools. One of them was widely used last year in Almaty to combat coronavirus spread. The system could track the internal migration of the population in real time, automatically, calculate the areas of potential outbreaks of the disease, allowing city authorities to take preventive measures in time.

Then this system was integrated with the video surveillance system in crowded places, and allowed to significantly increase the rate of mask regime observance by the population.

Big Data tools are used by the telecom company for fiscal data analytics, enabling central and local authorities to identify price spikes on food and medicine.

According to the Kazakhtelecom JSC board chairman, the company continues to actively develop this analytical platform: the next step in this development is forecasting various scenarios for the development of the economic situation both in the country as a whole and in each individual region.

Tracking system of tobacco products was showcased, which allows tracing the entire cycle of movement of goods, from the manufacturer to the end consumer, using the Data matrix code. The system will make it possible to clear Kazakhstan market of counterfeit and smuggled products, while each buyer will be able to independently check the origin of products using a free mobile application developed by Kazakhtelecom JSC.

Mandatory marking of cigarettes has been introduced in Kazakhstan since October 1, 2020. They can be sold until October 1, 2021, after which all unmarked cigarette products will be considered counterfeit.
