Askar Mamin inspected progress of smart city projects in Akkol
Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, during a working trip to Akkol, Akmola region, inspected the progress of smart city projects under the Digital Kazakhstan state program, as well as the development of the national space communication system, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to Primeminister.kz.
The PM got acquainted with the work of the Data Processing Center and the Situation Center of Kazakhtelecom JSC, which is the core of the Smart Aqkol project on the introduction of modern technologies of "smart cities".
The pilot project was carried out within the framework of the state program "Digital Kazakhstan" in order to comprehensively ensure the life of the city through video surveillance of road and public safety, including in educational institutions and social facilities, monitoring and management in the healthcare system, as well as equipping buildings and residential buildings with "smart" new generation equipment.
During his visit to the Akkol Space Communications Center (SCC), the Prime Minister was informed about the development of the Kazsat national space communications system (SCS), which consists of two satellites KazSat-2, KazSat-3 and two ground control complexes "Akkol" in the Akmola region and "Kokterek" in the Almaty region. The Akkol SCC includes a spacecraft mission control center, a monitoring control center, a hardware-software and metrological support center, and an infrastructure operation service.
At the moment, the services of KazSat communication satellites are used by 16 major Kazakhstani communication and broadcasting operators. The work load of the KazSat space communication system is about 73%.
The trip was attended by Deputy Prime Minister R. Sklyar, Acting Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry B. Musin, akim of Akmola region E. Marzhikpayev, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhtelecom JSC K. Yessekeyev and others.
