Yeldos Smetov is among best judo players in the world

The International Judo Federation (IJF) has updated the world ranking of judokas after the world stage of the Grand Prix in Budapest, reports with reference to the press service of the Kazakhstan Judo Federation.

In the new ranking, the champion of this competition, up to 60 kg, Yeldos Smetov, rose from 6th to 5th place and entered the TOP-5 of the best judokas in the world.

Silver medalist in weight category up to 66 kg Yeldos Zhumakanov rose from 12th to 11th position in the world rankings.

Recall that according to the IJF rules, athletes who took the 1st place received 700 points, 2 places - 490 points, 3 places - 350 points in the world ranking.

Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, congratulated the Kazakhstani judoka Yeldos Smetov on his victory at the Grand Prix in Budapest.
