President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan Timur Kulibayev was appointed a member of the International Olympic Committee’s commission for public relations and social development through sport of the (PASD), Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the NOC RK.
Previously, this commission was called the Commission on Foreign Relations. The main functions of the PASD commission are to advise the IOC on holding IOC sessions, the executive committee of the organization and the IOC president on strategies to promote the role of Sport and Olympism in the world, develop the Olympic movement, and cooperate with the UN and other organizations for developing peace inside and outside the Games.

Now, the PASD commission consists of 10 women and 18 men. Among them are members of the IOC Executive Committee, heads of NOCs, heads of international federations and sports organizations.
The Commission is chaired by IOC member Moreno Luis Alberto (Colombia), who is also the head of the Inter-American Development Bank and a board member of the World Economic Forum Foundation.
