Kazakhstan Ski Federation commented on the accusations of the Austrian police against Alexei Poltoranin in the use of doping, Inform.kz reports.
“If it turns out that he really took doping, the federation will make a statement. We are totally against dishonest methods, any attempts to use prohibited substances. We will defend our athlete until he is officially charged and we get statements from WADA, IOC, FIS,”- the Federation said.
It will be recalled that the International Ski Federation (FIS) published a statement on its official website on the situation with doping at the World Championships in Zefeld.
It is known that the Austrian police arrested seven people. Five of them are sportsmen. Estonian skier Andrus Veerupalu (the son of the famous Andrus Veerpalu), Kazakhstani Alexei Poltoranin and Austrians Max Hauke and Dominik Baldauf did not go out to the start the individual race yesterday. Police later reported that they had arrested two Austrians, two Estonians and one Kazakhstani.
