Nur-Sultan to host qualification games for Olympics 2022

At the congress of the International Ice Hockey Association (IIHF) taking place these days in Bratislava, the qualification rounds of the teams to the Winter Olympic Games 2022 in Beijing were determined, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the RK NOC press service.
According to the IIHF, on February 6, 2020, the competitions of the third qualifying round will start in Nur-Sultan. Competitions will last until February 9. The rivals of our team will be the hockey teams from Poland, Ukraine and one of the winners of the second round. The team that wins the first place at this stage will continue to compete for a license to the Olympic Games.
The final selection stage for the Olympics will be held from 27 to 30 August in Slovakia, Latvia and Norway.
For the Olympic men's hockey tournament of 2022, the 8 best countries of the IIHF 2019 World Ranking will be automatically qualified, which together with the host country China and the three qualifying teams will be selected at the tournament according to the IIHF World Ranking.
