Kazakhstan to perform in all disciplines at Asian track cycling championship
Kazakhstan's national team will take part in the Asian track cycling championship, which will be held in Indonesian Jakarta from January 9 to 13, Vesti.kz reports.
As noted, for the first time in history, Kazakhstan will be represented in almost all the disciplines.
Thus, in the tempo types among men, five cyclists are to take part: Artem Zakharov, Alisher Zhumakan, Robert Gayneev, Asylkhan Turar and Roman Vasilenkov. They will participate in the team race on the first day of the tournament. The next day, Gayneev will be in the scratch race, and then Zhumakan and Zakharov will compete for medals. The last Astana team cyclist was also announced in the omnium. Then, depending on the races, the participant of the group race will be determined - this will either be Zakharov again or Vasilenkov. On the last day of the Asian Championship, Gayneev and Vasilenkov will perform at madison.
Also in the tempo types Kazakhstan will be represented in the competition among women. Rinata Sultanova will pass the group race, scratch and omnium.
Pavel Vorzhev, Andrey Chugai, Maxim Naletov and Sergey Ponomarev among men and Anastasia Shapovalova among women will perform in the sprint types.
Kazakhstan will also be represented at the Asian Championships in the junior category.
