Kazakhstan football team officially lost chances to play at Euro 2020
The national football team of Kazakhstan has lost mathematical chances to reach the final stage of Euro 2020, Vesti.kz reports.
In the seventh round of Group I, Kazakhstan lost to Cyprus at home: 1: 2, Belgium defeated San Marino with a score of 9: 0, and Russia defeated Scotland - 4: 0.
With 21 points, Belgium leads the group, followed by Russia (18 points) and Cyprus (10). Kazakhstan is fourth (7), Scotland fifth (6), and San Marino is sixth, having lost all six matches with a total score of 0:37.
Thus, Belgium advanced to Euro 2020 ahead of schedule, since Cyprus, even if it wins the three remaining games, can only gain 19 points max. Already in the next match Russia can win the second ticket to the Euro.
As for Kazakhstan, even in case of victory in the three remaining matches, the team of Michal Bilek can get only 16 points max.
In the eighth round on October 13 at 19:00 Nur Sultan’s time at the Astana Arena, Kazakhstan is playing with Belgium, and at 22:00 the games Cyprus - Russia and Scotland - San Marino will be played.
