Golovkin received the right to title fight
Gennady Golovkin received the right to the fight for the world title. This became known after the International Boxing Federation (IBF) authorized the fight for the vacant world middleweight title between Gennady Golovkin and Sergey Derevyanchenko from Ukraine, Sportinform.kz reports.
The championship title became vacant after the IBF took the belt from the Mexican Saul Alvarez, who failed to agree on a fight with the Ukrainian Derevyanchenko. Thus, if the negotiations between the teams of Golovkin and Derevyanchenko are successful, the battle will take place in two months - on October 5, on DAZN.
It will be Golovkin’s second fight of six contractual fights, in the framework of cooperation with the DAZN promotion. In his first fight, he defeated Steve Rolls by knockout in the fourth round, last June.
GGG has 39 victories on his record, 35 of them by knockout.
