The chief sanitary doctor of Kazakhstan, Aizhan Yemagambetova, answered at the press conference in the CCS whether kindergarten and school teachers will be required to undergo PCR testing for COVID-19 in Kazakhstan.
"Today, mandatory testing of educators and school teachers is not envisioned, namely PCR testing for COVID-19, because we should all understand that the mandatory testing requirement remains only for the institutions with closed work cycle," said Aizhan Yesmagambetova.
She noted that this category includes medical and social institutions and shift workers.
"Teachers of schools and kindergartens go to their work every day, and when leaving work, they contact other people both on the street and at home, so the presence of a negative PCR test does not mean that a person will not get sick or become infected within the next 14 days, that is, during the full incubation period. Therefore, the requirement for mandatory PCR testing of these workers is not provided, "the speaker concluded.
