Yelzhan Birtanov, the Health Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at a press conference in the Government, said that in the next two years Kazakhstan plans to solve the problem of staff shortages in medical organizations, reports.

"We are solving the problem of personnel shortage. This year we have almost 6 thousand medical graduates, residents, and undergraduates who have studied at the state’s expense. We will send them to work at the organizations that have deficit of medical personnel. Thus, I think that in two years we will eliminate the main shortage of personnel," said Birtanov.

He also noted that the low quality of medical care is due to the lack of personnel.

In conclusion, Birtanov said that, in accordance with the new legislation, all graduates who studied on grants will be sent to work in specific medical organizations.

“First of all, we will work with rural areas,” concluded Birtanov.
