Kazakhstan President called on Kazakhstanis to preserve the unity.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the ceremony of raising the flag of Kazakhstan, timed to the Day of the Capital, and solemnly presented officers' shoulder straps to the A-level graduates of military universities of the country, the correspondent of Kazpravda.kz reports.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented officers' shoulder straps to 12 A-level graduates of military educational institutions of the republic.
In his speech, the Head of State congratulated the graduates and noted that the people of Kazakhstan should preserve unity.
"Our unity, cohesion and trust, respect for each other will remain forever, this is the basis of our future victories. The city of Astana is a symbol of our capabilities, the unity of the people, and the greatness of the nation. We are the only people who, at the turn of the century, created this city in the steppe - the pearl of Central Asia, the Asian continent, loved and admired by us and our guests", - the President said.
At the end of the ceremony, the President congratulated all residents of the country and started the events timed to the celebration of the Astana Day.
"Dear Astana citizens, I wish you prosperity, unity, trust, tolerance and a good future for us, for our children and grandchildren. Happy Astana Day!", concluded Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Recall, the first delivery of officer shoulder straps to graduates of military universities of Kazakhstan during the ceremony of raising the National Flag took place in 2008, after which it became an annual tradition. Raising the National Flag is the official start to the celebration of the Capital Day. This year the main city of the country marks its 19th birthday.
