Over KZT 5 bn transferred to Kazakhstanis for food kits in July

In July, about 1 million Kazakhstanis received payments for food kits totaling 5.4 billion tenge. This type of social support is to cover 1.1 million people, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As previously reported, at the instruction of the Head of State, during the period of the state of emergency and quarantine measures to combat coronavirus infection, the list of recipients of food kits was expanded. To minimize social contacts and prevent the spread of COVID-19, the kits have been replaced with the equivalent cash payments.
Beneficiaries of payments are citizens belonging to 5 social groups:
- children aged 6 - 18 from among the recipients of targeted social assistance;
- disabled children up to 16 years old, with the exception of disabled people permanently residing in medical and social institutions;
- the disabled persons
of I, II, III categories of all ages, with the exception of those permanently residing in medical and social institutions;
- persons raising a disabled child;
- unemployed citizens registered in the local employment agency.
Lists of recipients of this type of assistance are formed by local executive bodies.
In the period from March to May, these payments were transferred to 1 million people for a total of 13.5 billion tenge.
Recall that on July 14, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin at a government meeting instructed the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan to start paying Kazakhstanis money for food kits for July.
