In Kazakhstan, 104 schoolers have contracted coronavirus infection since the start of the school year, Kazpravda.kz correspondent quotes the Health Minister of Kazakhstan, Alexei Tsoi, as saying at the Government meeting.
"Since the beginning of the school year, 104 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered among schoolers, including 33 cases among children studying in duty classes. 550 contact persons have been found, among whom 7 cases of infection were identified. 71 cases of COVID-19 were detected among children studying remotely. Their 240 contact persons were established, 15 new cases were identified, "the Minister said.
He noted that with 100 percent offline training, the number of contact people would have grown to at least 1,500, leading to the likely spread of infection among schoolchildren, school personnel, and pupils' families.
"In this regard, the regional akims need to ensure strict compliance with the requirements for sanitary-disinfection and mask regimes, classroom occupancy, as well as other measures for the prevention of CVI in educational organizations," Tsoi summed up.
