According to the press service of the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the morning of August 8, the aircraft of the military transport aviation of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan set off on the Aktau - Beirut route to provide medical assistance to victims of the explosion in the port of Beirut.
As known, on August 4, in the area of the port of Beirut, near the base of the Lebanese Navy, a powerful explosion took place, killing at least 150 people. About five thousand were injured, but not all can receive treatment in a hospital, as hospitals are overcrowded.
Given the situation with Covid-19 in the Republic of Kazakhstan, infectious disease doctors and therapists were not included in the group. Highly qualified surgeons, traumatologists, neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists-resuscitators, as well as nursing staff of a surgical profile have been sent to Lebanon. Most of them speak English.
The task of military doctors is to provide qualified medical care to the victims.
