Kazakhstan wants to withdraw aviation from Border Service

It is proposed to withdraw aviation from the Border Guard Service and give it the status of a department of the National Security Committee. The relevant amendments "On the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan" were approved by the Majilis at a plenary meeting in the second reading, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
As noted in the conclusion to the bill, its purpose is to improve the current legislation on the State Border.
The bill provides for the possibility of transferring national security bodies’ employees to the category of military servants and transforming individual divisions of the National Security Committee into its military formations.
In order to integrate educational institutions of national security bodies and improve the quality of personnel training, the bill provides for the transfer of the Academy of the Border Guard Service to the jurisdiction of the National Security Committee.
Competence of the National Security Committee is provided for to approve the rules for the activities of Border Service representatives on the preparation, approval of technical and other documentation of border ships and boats, control of their production and acceptance in accordance with the law.
