Karaganda rgn ex-governor Abdyshev released on parole
He served more than half of the term imposed by the sentence.
Ex-Governor of Karaganda region Baurzhan Abdishev convicted for corruption, was released on parole, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to 1tv.kz.
"Today the former Governor of Karaganda region Baurzhan Abdishev has been released. He was convicted in the same time with the former Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov. In December last year, Abdishev was sentenced to five years in a penal colony for a number of corruption crimes. But the appeal board of the regional Court mitigated the sentence to three years, and the convict’s good behavior helped to reduce it further, " - the channel says.
The former official has served more than half of his sentence - 1 year, 7 months and 25 days. For the rest one year, four months and four days, according to the decree, he will be under probationary supervision.
