Health Minister commented on cost of Pfizer vaccine
Health Minister Aleksey Tsoi, answering journalists' questions in the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said that the cost of the Pfizer vaccine has not yet been determined, Kazpravda.kz reports.
“There are no calculations now. We are negotiating with Pfizer on the delivery while we have not received approval yet. Negotiations are underway. Almaty and other regions are now studying needs. It is necessary to understand how many such vaccines are needed for the population. Therefore, requests are made, preliminary registration is made,” he said.
Alexey Tsoi added that additional supplies are planned, but for now the need for a vaccine is being determined.
“When there are specific agreements, then the price will be determined. If it depended on Kazakhstan only, we would tell you. There is another side,” the minister explained.
Meanwhile, during the interview, journalists reminded the Minister that Vice Minister of Health Azhar Giniyat had previously said that Pfizer would cost $ 20.
“She said approximately, now there is no clear understanding. In the next 1-2 months there will be deliveries. We are waiting for the vaccine. The price will depend on the cost of delivery,” said Alexey Tsoi.
