Five-fold rise in ARVI and pneumonia incidence recorded in Almaty
The mayor of Almaty Bakytzhan Sagintayev said that rise in ARVI and pneumonia incidence had been recorded in the city, Kazpravda.kz quotes him as saying on Instagram.
“Over the last month alone, the number of ARVI and pneumonia diseases has grown 5-fold in the city, so has the number of emergency calls. The average daily load per medical brigade is up to 19 calls,” Sagintayev wrote.
He emphasized that at the height of the coronavirus spread, all possible resources of the urban health system were involved. In addition to infectious and provisional hospitals, the primary health care service is experiencing a large load.
Together with the Asfendiyarov Medical University, on the basis of the Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Diseases, he went on to say, a Patient Monitoring Center opened.
"Its task is round-the-clock monitoring and treatment of people at risk. This will allow us to minimize complications at the outpatient level, especially among the elderly," the mayor of the city concluded.
