Drugs for KZT 4 mln seized from a married couple in Ust-Kamenogorsk
In Ust-Kamenogorsk, police detained a married couple engaged in the distribution of synthetic drugs, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the PD of the East Kazakhstan region.
According to the police, in the regional center, the activities of a married couple, who sold psychotropic substances through "plants", were suppressed.
In early September, a 32-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman arrived from Nur-Sultan to Ust-Kamenogorsk, where they were selling psychotropic substances. The suspects purchased wholesale lots of synthetic psychotropic drugs, packed them into smaller doses and sold them through "plants".
"During the search, more than 150 grams of a psychotropic substance were seized from the suspects, which is equal to 500 single doses, the cost of which on the black market is more than 4 million tenge. Also, law enforcement officers seized weighing devices and devices for packaging of doses," said the head of the East Kazakhstan region PD Sagat Madiev.
The suspects were placed in a temporary detention center. A pre-trial investigation has begun in accordance with article 297, part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (illegal manufacture, processing, acquisition, storage, transportation for sale, sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues), the sanction of this article provides for a punishment of up to 15 years of imprisonment.
