Death of Kazakhstani at police station: three police officers suspected of torture

Three police officers were detained as part of an investigation into the death of a person at the police station of the Makanchi village of the Urdzhar district of the East Kazakhstan region, Kazpravda.kz reports citing the press service of the PD of the region.
The Internal Security Directorate reportedly conducted an internal investigation. Three persons, who were recognized as suspects, were dismissed from the internal affairs bodies by the decision of the disciplinary commission for negative reasons.
"They were placed in the temporary detention center of the Urdzhar district police department as part of the pre-trial investigation under article 146 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Torture." By the order of the head of the EKR PD for discrediting the civil service, failure to comply with the requirements of the law "On Law Enforcement Service", as well as for improper control over the activities and behavior of subordinates in the service, two heads of the police department of the Urdzhar district were dismissed from the internal affairs bodies," the message says.
It is noted that the pre-trial investigation continues.
The created investigative-operational group, headed by the head of the PD of the East Kazakhstan region, Sagat Madiyev, is still in the village Makanchi.
