Nur-Sultan is testing bus payment system with the use of bank cards, reports with reference to the press service of the capital's akimat.

According to the city administration, a pilot project of payment using a card of any second-tier bank has started on bus route #20. This payment system is being tested and will last for about one month.

"You can pay using a VISA and Mastercard, as well as a smartphone equipped with an NFC system. For a transaction, it is enough to attach them to a special terminal located next to the validator. If necessary, a passenger can receive an electronic ticket on the website. The validator screen shows links to obtaining an electronic ticket in the Kazakh and Russian languages", - said in the message.

When paying by credit card, the fare is 90 tenge.

"By the way, with passenger traffic of more than 400 thousand trips, there is an increase in the use of alternative methods of payment for travel using mobile applications with a credit card attached, and this share is 20% of the total turnover. In the future, this trend sets the task to the CTS to switch to online payments with the possibility of accepting payments directly from bank cards", - added in the press service.

It is noted that in order to achieve these goals, the CTS has previously conducted two pilot projects for accepting payments from bank cards. These pilot projects allow testing various validators and systems before full introduction in the city bus routes.
