20 tons of humanitarian aid was collected in Atyrau for residents of Arys. The aid includes food, personal care products and basic necessities, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the regional communication service of the Atyrau region.
According to the director of one of the city’s shopping centers, the first humanitarian aid from the region will be shipped today, June 25. More than 100 entrepreneurs who rent premises at the shopping center took part in its gathering.
"Akimat of Atyrau region represented by the head of the region Nurlan Nogayev called to support the victims of the emergency in Arys and provide possible assistance to the residents. We decided to respond and take part in the all-Kazakhstani action "Arys, bіz bіrgemіz". Thanks to this, we have managed to collect 20 tons of necessary cargo. Now we are engaged in its shipment, and in the near future humanitarian aid will be sent to its destination. We will deliver the most necessary things. In addition, people transfer money to a bank account published in the media," said Nurlan Tauekel.
Recall that June 24, at 09.20 the fire service received a message about the fire at the warehouse of military unit No. 44856 in Arys. Under the leadership of the oblast governor Umirzak Shukeyev, a task force was created, which conducts relevant work in the town.
The President instructed the ministers of defense, internal affairs and the Turkestan region governor to urgently take measures to eliminate the consequences of the explosions, as well as to ensure the safety of residents and find out the causes of the incident.
In the Emergency Situations Department of the Turkestan region, they noted that fire and evacuation work was being carried out.
Information on the victims has been established.
Kazakhstan Defense Ministry made an official statement regarding an explosion at a warehouse of a military unit in Arys, Turkestan region.
Police ensure safety and order in the town. The evacuated people are placed in several points in Shymkent.
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, flew to Arys to study the situation after the emergency.
Later, Turkestan region governor Umirzak Shukeyev and Defense Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev spoke in detail about the operational situation in the town.
The head of state met with the evacuated residents of Arys, inspected residential buildings and administrative facilities most affected by the explosions at the ammunition depot, and also instructed to take priority measures to ensure the operational accommodation of citizens who lost housing, and to provide comprehensive assistance to the injured, including medical.
Later it was reported that all missing children as a result of explosions in Arys were found and handed over to their parents.
