President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the 28th meeting of the Berlin Eurasian Club, Kazpravda.kz cites the Akorda press service reporting.
Addressing the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the Berlin Eurasian Club, established on the initiative of the First President Nursultan Nazarbayev, had proved its importance.
According to him, over the past three years, the geopolitical, geo-economic situation in the world has undergone significant changes. Sanctions and trade restrictions are increasingly replacing traditional diplomatic instruments.
“The global economy is faced with chronic diseases such as imbalances in the development of countries and regions, technological inequality, and vulnerability of the financial system. Under these difficult conditions, our country's foreign economic and trade policy is transparent, pragmatic and simple - Kazakhstan remains open for mutually beneficial cooperation with various associations, countries and companies,” Tokayev said.
Broaching Kazakhstan foreign policy priorities, he emphasized that relations with the European Union are of paramount importance to us.
"We pay considerable attention to what is happening in Europe, we are in a constant constructive dialogue with European leaders. Kazakhstan will continue to support new EU approaches towards the Central Asian region."
Tokayev presented to the forum the growing investment potential of Kazakhstan, pledging the government’s support to German investments in agriculture, HT and digital services. Kazakhinvest and Kazakhstan Direct Investment Fund were tasked to open special offices that will cooperate with German investors, the President said.
Assistance to German business in the implementation of projects will also be provided by Baiterek Holding and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.
The event, which was held at the AXICA Berlin Congress Center, was attended by senior officials of the Government of Germany, experts, journalists and more than 250 representatives of German business.
