Tokayev visited a specialized boarding school for gifted children in Karaganda rgn
The head of state visited a specialized boarding school for gifted children "Orken", Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as part of his working trip to the Karaganda region, visited a specialized boarding school for gifted children "Orken" in Zhezkazgan.
The President examined the new rooms of "Orken Media", local history, dombra and art studio, talked with teachers and students.
The educational institution with the Kazakh language of instruction was built in 2020 and is designed for 900 places. The boarding school provides professionally oriented and specialized education in the natural and mathematical direction.
To implement educational models, cooperation has been established with the Karaganda State University named after E. Buketov, the Zhezkazgan University named after O. Baikonurov and the Historical and Archaeological Museum of Zhezkazgan.
To develop the creative potential of students, 4 sports sections and 6 clubs have been opened.
During the visit, the Head of State was reported on the progress of his instructions to ensure quality education in the Karaganda region.
About 206 thousand students study at 499 schools in the region, 21,318 of them are first graders. To solve the problem of the shortage of educational places for 2022-2025, it is planned to build sixteen schools, including three - through public-private partnerships, as well as one private school.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the progress of modernization of rural schools. This year, 166 schools have been repaired in the region, and 299 more are planned to be modernized by 2025.
To ensure the safety of students in all educational institutions of the Karaganda region, alarm buttons and warning systems have been installed. In schools with a contingent of over 300 students, specialized security has been introduced and turnstiles have been installed.
