At a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke about the effectiveness of the QazVac vaccine, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
“Overcoming the negative consequences of the pandemic is one of the most pressing topics on our agenda. In the most difficult period, the CIS states showed unity and solidarity, providing each other with the necessary support and assistance. Russia played an extremely important role here. Our countries have gained good experience in the fight against coronavirus including in the field of vaccine development," the Head of State said.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that only mass immunization of the population will make it possible to reverse the situation and ensure the safety of citizens.
"As you know, the Kazakh QazVac shows high efficiency and is already being supplied to the countries as humanitarian aid. In addition, the new drug QazCoVac-P is successfully undergoing clinical trials. Three more vaccines are at the stage of preclinical testing. Our country continues to produce the Russian vaccine "Sputnik V", which enjoys well-deserved trust at the international level. I know that your countries are also actively working in this area. Kazakhstan is ready for close cooperation, exchange of experience and possible supply of its vaccines," the President concluded.
