Tokayev received credentials from ambassadors of Latvia, Turkmenistan and Thailand

A ceremony of presenting credentials to the President of Kazakhstan by newly appointed ambassadors of the three states was held at the Akorda residence, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
Credentials were presented by the Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia Irina Mangule, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Batyr Redjepov and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand Chatchavan Sakornsin.
Congratulating the ambassadors on the official start of the diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that their solid experience and professional qualities will contribute to the rapprochement of friendly peoples in various fields. The Head of State assured the diplomats of the full support and assistance from his Administration and the Government of the country in carrying out their noble missions.
Addressing Irina Mangula, the President noted that Kazakhstan highly values its long-standing friendship with the Republic of Latvia, based on strong friendship, deep historical ties and interests. In his speech, the Head of State focused on the prospects for bilateral trade and economic contacts.
In a conversation with Batyr Redjepov, the President of Kazakhstan noted that Turkmenistan has been a good neighbor and brotherly state for Kazakhstan, adding that over 30 years of independence, both countries have built a relationship of true strategic partnership. The Head of State said that he connects high expectations with joint work at the sites of the "Caspian Five", the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and the Organization for Economic Cooperation. In this context, the Head of State expressed support for proposal of the leader of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to hold the Caspian summit in Ashgabat.
Describing the bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Thailand, the President stressed that interaction with this country is an integral part of Kazakhstan's foreign policy in the Asian direction. Contacts are developing successfully both in bilateral and multilateral formats, including through the UN and CICA.
At the end of the ceremony, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev conveyed his greetings and best wishes to President of Latvia Egils Levits, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and King of Thailand Mahi Vachiralongkorn.
In turn, the foreign ambassadors assured the President that they would make every effort to further strengthen the cooperation of their states with Kazakhstan.
