Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who is in Kazakhstan on a working visit, Kazpravda.kz refers to the press service of Akorda reporting.
Tokayev noted that cooperation with Tatarstan takes an important place in the entire interaction with our main partner - the Russian Federation and highly appreciated the results of Rustam Minnikhanov's recent trip to Karaganda region, during which the construction of a tire manufacturing plant in Saran was launched. He expressed interest in further strengthening of culture-humanitarian contacts, specifically in holding the days of culture and art of Tatarstan in Kazakhstan.
He informed Rustam Minnikhanov about the decision to name one of the streets in Nur-Sultan after a famous Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai. As Tokayev emphasized, this event will become one of the brightest symbols of cooperation between our peoples.
In turn, the President of Tatarstan expressed gratitude for another opportunity to visit our country.
During the talks, measures were examined to further strengthen trade, economic, industrial, energy cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan, as well as joint efforts to counter the coronavirus pandemic.
