Tokayev met with Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Prosecutor General Gizat Nurdauletov, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev heard a report on the results of work in the priority areas of the prosecutor's office.
Gizat Nurdauletov reported on the progress of the instructions of the Head of State to strengthen the fight against crime, coordinate law enforcement and other bodies to ensure law and order.
According to him, over the past period, the number of crimes in the country has decreased by almost a third. Registration of thefts, robberies, hooliganism has halved.
The Prosecutor General informed the President that, within the framework of supervision over the observance of the rule of law in the pre-trial investigation, the prosecutors terminated unjustified criminal prosecution against 63 persons, canceled 17 thousand illegal decisions to terminate and interrupt the investigation period.
The Head of State was also informed about the work to protect business and prevent illegal interference in entrepreneurial activity in the framework of the criminal process, as well as by the regulatory authorities.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was reported on the measures taken by prosecutors to ensure the rule of law in the socio-economic sphere, as well as on the results of checks on compliance with the law when it is applied in certain sectors of the activities of state bodies.
Following the meeting, the Head of State gave the Prosecutor General a number of specific instructions.
