The head of state took part in the ceremony of awarding grants "Tauelsizdik Urpaktary", Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, congratulating the participants of the event on the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, pointed out the special significance of the ceremony. The President called the generation of Independence one of the brightest symbols of the new Kazakhstan.
"Since our country gained Independence, a whole generation of young people, free in spirit and thoughts, has grown. A galaxy of children of Independence is growing up, who are already contributing to the prosperity of our Motherland. On my behalf, special grants have been allocated to young people who were born and raised during the period of Independence. This is made with the aim of supporting the initiatives of talented Kazakh children. The hopes and aspirations of our people have always been associated with the younger generation, therefore we pay special attention to ensuring that young people received proper education, knowledge and skills," he said.
The head of state stressed that the desire of gifted youth to serve their native country instills confidence in the future of Kazakhstan.
"I got acquainted with the projects proposed by the winners. Most of them are devoted to the topic of ecology and environment. This is wonderful! After all, environmental protection is now more important than ever for all mankind. Preservation of the unique nature of our vast land is the sacred duty of each of us. I believe that new ideas of young people will be implemented in various spheres and will benefit people. In fact, this will be a gift from the generation of Independence for the anniversary of our state," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President drew attention to the fact that comprehensive support for youth is one of the main directions of state policy. In the conditions of the systemic crisis of the first half of the 1990s, the large-scale educational program "Bolashak" was launched, which was initiated by the First President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"Thanks to this program, thousands of young children from all over the country have received and are receiving advanced education in the best universities in the world. Many of them are already making their significant contribution to the progressive development of Kazakhstan. The President's youth personnel reserve has become an effective social lift. It gives young and ambitious professionals another opportunity to prove oneself in the system of public administration," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
In addition, in his opinion, the 30% quota in the electoral lists of parties contributed to an increase in the representation of young people in the Majilis and Maslikhats.
The head of state also noted that projects and programs of social support for youth are being successfully implemented.
"To support young people, housing programs and special projects are being implemented. Talented youth who have achieved success in the fields of culture, science and education are awarded state prizes. I am sure that today's event will contribute to the implementation of your initiatives and creative plans," the President said.
As Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, in the modern world a successful person is distinguished by knowledge, hard work, dedication, energy. According to him, the winners of the grant are given a good opportunity to implement their projects.
“As the saying goes, a purposeful person will always find a way. The state creates all conditions to meet the needs and demands of youth. You will definitely see and feel the achievements of the large-scale work and reforms being carried out," the Head of State said.
At the end of the meeting, he expressed confidence that creative, constructive and patriotic youth will contribute to the prosperity of the country.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished young people to become professionals in the future, true masters of their craft.
The grant winners who spoke during the ceremony thanked the President for the support from the state.
