Tokayev commented on his decision to assign the status of a town to Kosshy
The head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as part of a working trip to the Akmola region, commented on his decision to assign the village Kosshy the status of a town of regional significance, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“The decree has been signed. The signing of this document and the granting of the status of a town of regional significance caused a good response. But it is necessary to additionally explain to people not only in the region, but also outside it, the positive meaning of this decision. First of all, this decision is aimed at making life easier for people in Kosshy. We see that on paper, I think, about 40 thousand people live there. In fact - 80 thousand. To solve pressing issues of life, they are forced to go to Kokshetau, the regional center. It takes a lot of time, effort, and, of course, it makes the residents nervous. Therefore, it was decided to change the administrative status of the town. I think this is the right decision,” the President stressed.
