The Kazakh language should become the language of interethnic communication in Kazakhstan. This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, delivering his first State-of-the-Nation Address at the joint session of the Parliament chambers, Kazpravda.kz reports.
“Strengthening of social harmony, harmony among social and ethnic groups is the outcome of joint work of the whole society. Therefore, it is necessary to take concrete measures to study political processes and further solidify the unity. Strengthening the nation-forming role of the Kazakh people, we must further maintain interethnic and interfaith harmony. The unity of the nation is in its diversity. We will continue to create conditions for the development of ethnic languages and cultures in the country, "- said Tokayev.
He noted that language is a tool for uniting society.
“To create an active civil society, I believe that it is necessary to raise the status of non-governmental organizations. Therefore, in the near future we should develop and adopt a concept for the development of civil society through to 2025,” Tokayev summed up.
