Kassym-Jomart Tokayev unveiled a bust of Abai in Seoul

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the opening ceremony of the bust of Abai Kunanbayuly in Seoul, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The head of state highly appreciated the opening of the bust of Abai on the territory of the Cyber University in Seoul, noting that this important event will contribute to the strengthening of friendly relations between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea.
"The opening in Seoul of a bust of the great son of the Kazakh people, Abai Kunanbayuly, is a sign of Korean people’s respect for the Kazakh people," the President of Kazakhstan said.
The design of the monument was developed in Kazakhstan, and the sculpture was cast in bronze in Korea. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the special importance of the installation of the bust on the territory of the Cyber University in the Korean capital.
2010 was declared the Year of Kazakhstan in Korea, and 2011 - the Year of Korea in Kazakhstan. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recalled that these events gave a serious impetus to the development of cooperation in all areas.
"We have managed to strengthen our contacts in the cultural and spiritual sphere. Such close ties will find their continuation in the future. Korean is taught in the leading educational institution of Kazakhstan. I know well that Korean students also learn the Kazakh language. This, of course, is very encouraging. Many young people from Kazakhstan study at Korean universities. We will continue cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture. This creates conditions for development of our relations in the spirit of friendship in the future," the President of Kazakhstan emphasized.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also visited the art studio of the Seoul Cyber University.
