President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at an extended meeting of the Government said that he was offered to dismiss the Government, Kazpravda.kz reports.
“To be honest, during the preparation of this meeting, I was advised to dismiss some of the first leaders of the regions and departments, even to dismiss the entire Government. They said that this will be appreciated by society, and I get some points. But I don’t need points at all. I’m ready to listen and hear responsible people, but I’m not going to play to the crowd," the Presidential Press Secretary Berik Uali quoted in Facebook the President as saying.
Tokayev noted that some akims have already received reprimands and comments.
“We need skillful, selfless actions of the Government and akims to overcome the crisis, which will only escalate. This is a forecast for the global economy, and Kazakhstan is part of it. But this does not mean that reserve personnel will not be involved," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev added.
