“Firstly, the holding of direct elections of rural akims is a really great event for the development of our country. Secondly, this event is another manifestation of how the political reforms announced by the President of the country are being implemented. As you yourself know, 10 laws were adopted on the initiative of the President within the framework of political reforms in two years,” Yerlan Karin said during an expert discussion held in the capital.
Yerlan Karin stressed that the elections of rural akims held on July 25 became a clear manifestation of political reforms.
“These elections were held in 730 rural districts. We saw a great interest in the elections. This time there were more self-nominees than candidates nominated by parties. About 60% of registered candidates are self-nominated,”said the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
