Swiss President opined on coop prospects with Kazakhstan

At the official meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Switzerland, Ueli Maurer opined on further development of relations between the two countries, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
Firstly, talking about international cooperation, he reminded that Switzerland is a neutral country in the political sense. They are developing humanitarian cooperation. Cooperation with Kazakhstan for the coming years plays an important role there, because of its geopolitical location - between Asia and Europe, Maurer said.
According to him, within the framework of One Belt - One Road initiative, Kazakhstan will continue to fulfill the function of a connecting bridge between Europe and Asia, moreover, this role will continue to strengthen in the future, mutual support, assistance within the framework of the work of international platforms will be provided. He believes that small states that have independence should play an important role in various world events and wished Kazakhstan success in it.
He also added that Switzerland not only wants to enhance trade between the two countries, but also to cooperate in the fields of education and technology.
A big plus of Kazakhstan, he said, is a young, dynamically growing population, in which it differs from Switzerland with its aging population. The cultural aspect is important; direct air links between Zurich and Nur-Sultan are required, because people need to get closer, Maurer concluded.
