Kazakhstan will help Tajikistan with equipment to strengthen Tajik-Afghan border

At a plenary session, the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan ratified the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on provision of military-technical assistance in ensuring security in the adjacent areas of the Tajik-Afghan border, Kazpravda.kz reports.

As noted in the conclusion to the document, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the provision of gratuitous military-technical assistance in ensuring security in the adjacent areas of the Tajik-Afghan border was reached in Nur-Sultan on July 12, 2021.

According to the agreement, the Kazakh side provides the Tajik side with military-technical assistance in the form of a gratuitous transfer of military property.

"The name and volume of military property are agreed through diplomatic channels by the authorized bodies of the parties," the conclusion says.

The Senate also ratified the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the provision of gratuitous military-technical assistance, according to which the Republic of Kazakhstan provides the Republic of Tajikistan with free military-technical assistance in the form of the transfer of military equipment specified in the annex. According to article 3 of the agreement, the Kazakh side ensures the delivery of military equipment by rail from the Otar station of the Zhambyl region to the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan (Rohati station, Dushanbe).
