By the President decree Yerlan Koshanov, who previously held the post of the head of the Prime Minister's office, was appointed Karaganda region’s governor, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the Akorda press-service.
In this position, he replaced Nurmukhambet Abdibekov, who was appointed chairman of the Accounts Committee for Control over the Republican Budget Execution by another President Decree.
Erlan Koshanov graduated from the Dzhezkazgan branch of the Karaganda Polytechnic Institute in 1984, specializing in mechanical engineering, in 1991 - the Higher Commercial School at the Academy of Foreign Trade of the USSR, in 1999 - the Kazakh State Academy of Management, specializing in economics.
In 2001-2003 he was Deputy Head of the Prime Minister’s office, in 2003-2006 - Vice Minister of Transport and Communications, 2007-2012 - Deputy Head of the Prime Minister’s Office, representing the Government in Majilis.
Since 2012 he held the position of the Head of the RK PM Office.
