The first edition of Koran in the ancient Turkic language was presented in Turkestan, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
The International Turkic Academy together with the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Khoja Akhmet Yasavi held an international conference "Turkestan - the spiritual capital of the Turkic world" in Turkestan.
The President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali, Secretary General of TURKSOY Dyusen Kaseinov, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Omer Kodzhaman, Rector of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after S. Khoji Akhmet Yasavi Zhanar Temirbekova, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Mukashev, chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development Yerzhan Nukezhanov, Consul General of the Turkish Republic in Almaty Ali Riza Akinci, Board Chairman of the Bilge Turk cultural foundation, ex- Governor Gyungor Azim Tuna, deputy akim of Turkestan region Saken Kalkamanov, as well as prominent scientists attended the conference .
Presentation of the Koran, translated into the ancient Turkic language in the era of the Karakhanid state (X century), was held. This unique edition, issued by the International Turkic Academy, is the oldest and most complete version of the Koran translation that has survived to our time. Today the manuscript is in the Museum of Turkic and Islamic Art in Istanbul. The legacy of millennia, born on the Turkestan land, thus becomes available to scientists and applicants interested in Turkic studies, language and religion, and is published for the first time in a full facsimile version.
The publication of the holy book coincided with granting to Turkestan of the status of the spiritual capital of the Turkic world.
