Nine cars burned out due to fire at service station in Almaty

A large fire broke out at one of the service stations in Almaty, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Emergency Situations Department of the city.
“Today, on October 27, at 12:56, the forces and means of emergency situations went to the Aksai-1A micro district in the Auezov district. By the time the firemen arrived, a detached hangar-type service station was already burning with an open flame. Extinguishing of the fire was complicated by the high heat radiation from the burning metal hangar. 2 gas cylinders with a volume of 25 liters each were evacuated from the scene. Information has been received that there is a container with a flammable liquid inside the hangar," the Emergency Situations Department said.
According to the press service, an explosion occurred at 13:21. It is noted that there are no victims among the firefighters.
"60 people work at the site, including the leadership of the Emergency Situations Department, interaction services, 13 units of equipment. There were 9 vehicles in the hangar, they have completely burned out. Due to the heat impact, 3 cars were damaged outside," the press service added.
