Dozens of houses were flooded in the village Koyandy near Nur-Sultan. Water came to the houses of the villagers in the middle of the night. Rescuers had to evacuate people. They were not able to save furniture and household appliances, reports.

According to a resident of Koyandy, Dinara Zainuldinova, water began to flow into the house when the whole family was asleep. In a matter of minutes, furniture and household appliances were drowned - they had no time to save anything.

“The whole house was flooded in about 15 minutes,” the woman said.

Several more houses in the village Koyandy went under the water. Rescuers had to evacuate people of the flooded houses. Other villagers expect new flooding in fear.

According to experts' forecasts, 400 houses, in which 1,500 people live, are under threat of flooding in the East Kazakhstan region. In the event of an emergency, people will be accepted by evacuation points. Large water also threatens Akmola, Almaty, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl and Kostanay regions. At the same time, officials do not expect a big disaster.

"According to Kazhydromet, this year, large-scale natural floods, as it was in 2015, 2017, are not expected. In case of sharp changes in weather conditions, namely a sharp increase in the temperature background and heavy precipitation, local flooding is possible", - commented the Vice Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Kozhaniyazov.

The further situation, experts say, depends on the weather. Especially in the highlands. There, the threat of flooding persists for the entire period of snow melting.
