Forest fire extinguished in Ridder

The forest fire in Ridder was localized. This was announced by Talgat Uali, an official representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazpravda.kz reports.
The fire started on May 10 at 13.55 on the administrative territory of Ridder in the village Leskhoz.
As a result of the wind, reaching gusts of up to 20 m / s, fire destroyed 31 houses on five streets, 5 cars and outbuildings on seven sites, as well as the service station.
"On May 11 at 18.20, the fire in the residential buildings of the First District of Ridder was completely extinguished. According to the results of the flight, the total area of the fire was specified - 287.4 hectares, 272.4 of which is a forest zone," Uali said.
493 people from among the personnel, 69 pieces of equipment, 2 helicopters of local executive bodies, fire units of the Emergency Situations Department and the forestry institution of the East Kazakhstan region were involved in extinguishing the fire.
As a result of high-altitude extinguishing, the Mi-8 helicopter of Kazavialesokhrana carried out 5 discharges in the amount of 12 tons of water. The water intake was made from the pit at a distance of 1.5 km.
Recall that on May 10 a forest fire spread to the village Leskhoz (near Ridder) of the East Kazakhstan region. Two injured men born in 1949 and 1980 were hospitalized with burns. Also at the scene the charred corpse of a woman born in 1948 was found.
The head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, instructed to provide housing for the residents of the East Kazakhstan region, who suffered from the fire.
Akim of the region Danial Akhmetov said that the victims will receive comprehensive support and assured that the victims will be provided with housing by the end of August.
By the order of the akim of Ridder, a local emergency was declared.
