15 people are in intensive care after emergency in Arys - Health Minister
15 victims are in reanimation due to the explosions in Arys, said Health Minister of Kazakhstan Yelzhan Birtanov at the Government meeting, Kazpravda.kz reports.
"165 people asked for medical help. 76 of them were sent to outpatient treatment after providing medical care, 89 patients were hospitalized for inpatient treatment, in the intensive care units there are 15 victims diagnosed with combined and polytrauma. The main contingent of patients is in the regional clinical, pediatric, Shymkent city clinical hospitals", - said Birtanov.
According to him, 22 ambulance brigades were mobilized for rendering medical assistance and 4 brigades from Zhambyl oblast were additionally sent. 12 more brigades are in full readiness.
“The brigades of resuscitation specialists, traumatologists, pediatric resuscitation specialists and neurosurgeons are also ready for the provision of advisory assistance through the air ambulance service. Two helicopters are provided with medical equipment if needed”, said the minister.
Recall that June 24, at 09.20 the fire service received a message about the fire at the warehouse of military unit No. 44856 in Arys. Under the leadership of the oblast governor Umirzak Shukeyev, a task force was created, which conducts relevant work in the town.
The President instructed the ministers of defense, internal affairs and the Turkestan region governor to urgently take measures to eliminate the consequences of the explosions, as well as to ensure the safety of residents and find out the causes of the incident.
In the Emergency Situations Department of the Turkestan region, they noted that fire and evacuation work was being carried out. A working group headed by the region governor was established.

Police ensure safety and order in the town. The evacuated people are placed in several points in Shymkent.
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, flew to Arys to study the situation after the emergency.
Later, Turkestan region governor Umirzak Shukeyev and Defense Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev spoke in detail about the operational situation in the town.
