Over 900 000 ha of grain crops harvested in Kazakhstan
About 900 thousand hectares of grain crops were harvested in Kazakhstan. The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Saparkhan Omarov announced this at a meeting of the Government, Kazpravda.kz reports.
"As of August 10 of this year, 929.4 thousand hectares were harvested or 37.3% of the harvested area. Today, a massive harvest of grain crops is being carried out in Aktobe, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda and Turkestan regions", - said Omarov.
The minister noted that with an average yield of 19.1 centners / ha, 1.8 million tons of grain crops were harvested. Also, the main grain-sowing regions of the republic have begun harvesting a new crop.
"93.3 thousand hectares were harvested or 0.8% of the area of these regions. The northern regions will begin mass harvesting by August 20," the minister said.
In conclusion, Omarov added that following the results of 7 months, the volume of gross crop production increased by 2.1% and amounted to 242 billion tenge.
