The First President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, met with Prime Minister Askar Mamin, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of Elbasy.
During the meeting, the First President of Kazakhstan emphasized that thanks to the measures taken, it was possible to reduce the rate of spread of coronavirus infection.
Elbasy noted the importance of the quality implementation of the instructions of the Head of State.
At the same time, Nursultan Nazarbayev focused on the need to ensure economic security in this situation.
“The economic situation in the world is complicated. But in the first quarter, our country’s indicators are not bad. However, it should be noted that the consequences of quarantine have not yet fully affected the country's economic indicators. The issues of supporting small and medium-sized businesses and providing the population with food remain important. Now we need to think about what we will do in the post-crisis period. The economy will decline, and most likely the consequences will be more severe than after the 2008 crisis," said Elbasy.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the timeliness of the allocation of 10 billion dollars from the National Fund and the reserve of the Government to support the domestic economy.
In turn, the Prime Minister informed the First President of Kazakhstan about measures being taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the country and to ensure socio-economic stability.
At the end of the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the relevance of implementing programs aimed at developing non-resource sectors of the economy.
"We will overcome these difficulties. The most important thing is the unity of our people. I believe that the Government is working efficiently. Tomorrow I will publish my article addressing the people of Kazakhstan. We need to show patience, while maintaining respect for each other," said Elbasy.
