Nurly Zher: how many apartments will be built for Kazakhstanis this year

More than 6.6 million square meters of housing were commissioned in Kazakhstan in the first half of 2021, this is 56 thousand housing units, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2021, an increase in the volume of housing commissioning is noted in all regions. The leaders are Atyrau (188.1%), Kostanay (120.9%), Zhambyl (114.9%), East Kazakhstan (110.5%) and Karaganda (110%) regions.
In total, within the framework of the Nurly Zher program, it is planned to build 17 million square meters of new housing this year, or 163 thousand apartments. Of these, due to public investment - 1.4 million square meters, or 48.3 thousand apartments.
The goal of Nurly Zher is to increase the affordability and comfort of housing and to develop housing infrastructure. For this, mechanisms are used to subsidize housing mortgage loans, subsidize loans to developers, bring engineering infrastructure to construction sites, including for individual construction.
